We hope that your children are taking your blessings every day. Bless them not only with health, happiness but also develop skills to appreciate others and live together.

Our children have forgotten the simple joy of sharing things with others. Let us start a simple activity with them. It called the ‘Forest of Hearts’. Let us encourage our children to thank members of the family for small things.

We can simply draw a heart and write a message thanking the child. If we do it, the child will also do what we do. We will also start it at school. We say values cannot be preached but demonstrated, let us demonstrate the value of goodness and developing a sense of gratitude.

Parenting Tips - Edu-Paedia Pre-School

As a parent, we allow our children to play, we encourage our children to explore the world

through their senses. They learn and make sense of the world visually and kinesthetically. But

don’t they need to read and write. Oh. yes, they need to read, write, and listen. The world is also

about these skills. Understanding this, we have designed activities which will help you work with

your child and enhance these skills.

We have been emphasizing the need to spend quality time with young ones. We are sending

across a set of activities called ‘Home Connect’ which can be done with them at their pace. If they

enjoy something, let them do it at one go. If they are reluctant, do not push them but let them do it

when they feel ready. We want you to be the guide, motivator, and partner. Please support them,

share yourself through these activities, bond as a team and rediscover the joy of learning together

from the eyes of your child.

Is your child a talker, does he repeat like a parrot and then add some more? You are watching an

Auditory Learner who has a keen sense of sound. He can hear and make sense of words, enjoys

music, and inscribes the word in his brain. He loves to speak and enjoys talking

The child who loves to read, holds the newspaper upside down and pretends to read, that is our

Read Write Genius. Loves the written word and writes with ease. Maybe loves the Ipad or the

computer and putters around with it. Eventually they all get there but some faster and some a

little more slowly. Let’s be there for them in this journey.

Challenges of Parenting

Greetings from the family of Edu-Paedia. We are all in the technology era. Our children are technocrats. They love computers, are addicted to television. Our imaginative children creates stories, builds drama and allows fire eating dragons, bull headed ogres, talking fish and flying turtles to be their friends. They want action all the time. They want OVER STIMULATION and are bored by reality. They love the world of cartoons and films. They are VISUAL LEARNERS. Television can be an inquiry tool. Our kids can explore places and animals or things they will not come across naturally. They can learn new things or activities. Yet for all its advantages, TV encourages our kids to be couch potatoes. Their social skills are hampered. They forget to read; their language development is impeded. They are exposed to a lot of violence and negativity. They tend to become less energetic and lose their creativity. Let us ration the TV time. Let us watch TV with them. Television time can be bonding time. Story telling or reading together can replace TV time. Walk and play with your child. Let our kids enjoy reality rather than make believe. “Say no to TV”. The Creative Teacher

That’s when Sister finally sat down and cried. She cried for Pramod and for all his friends who would never see him again.

Thus a creative teacher is just not an information provider but a person who stimulates his students to greater success by living the values that he/she preaches. A creative teacher has no option but to be a role model.

Creative teaching suggests a very different vision—teachers are knowledgeable and expert professionals and are granted creative autonomy to improvise in their classrooms. People generally choose to become teachers with this vision in mind. Creative teaching results in deeper understanding among learners, a form of learning that is more difficult to quantitatively assess; yet, close empirical studies of the discourse processes of collaboration have the potential to document these benefits. Implementing creative teaching will require serious, long-term investment in professional development for teachers and administrators, and basic improvements in pre-service teacher education. Yet it has the potential to result in brighter, more motivated, and more effective teachers, and to result in students with deeper understanding and improved creative and social skills.

How to live long - Young at heart - a short story

Few months back we met an old man when attending some programme. He was very active roaming here and there , chatting with people , guiding them. We came to know from someone in the group that this old man is 98 years old. But he did not look that old and seemed to be around 60 years from outlook. In the same program there were few people of aged and 40 years who used to prattle about getting tired working around. This old man used to laugh at them and used to make fun of them how weak they are.



The old man's grandson met us and informed - "Sir , my grandfather last week celebrated his 98th birthday . Do you know how grand it was ? He took photos , Videos etc . Not even young children celebrate like that. Usually people who get old don't celebrate their birthday nowadays, we were curious to talk to this old man and met him and asked casually "Grandpa , you are going to hit century. Is-int it?" . The old man replied laughing - "100 years , yes definitely - there are only 2 years left" and patted hard on our back. By the time we relax from is pat he again said - "What is 100 after reaching 98 itself ?" and patted hard again. His pat had the effect which a 25 year old young person would had. We curiously asked , "Grandpa , we too want to live for 100 years - what should we do?". The old person replied - "Its very easy , first you live for 99 years , the 100th year comes by itself" . We  were surprised by the thoughts and enthusiasm this old man showed.

While this conversation went on , one young person who seemed to be sad sat with us . The old man asked - "What happened , why are you so sad?" . The young man said "Grandpa , today is not a good day for me - whatever I do everything is failing ?". The old person consoled him saying slowly - "Fool , how can a day be bad ? Your mind would have been bad. Every day is a miracle. If I had not lived that day , it would have not existed for me. That is why a day which exists if far better from a day which does not exists. Correct your mind. If you have failed , lost something - don't worry , work again on it with enthusiasm. Then that day becomes a good day for you."


We come across one set of - people when getting old think life is a heavy weight for them to carry further. The other set like this old man who lives every day with the same enthusiasm thinking that its God's miraculous gift. From this short story we understand , everything is inside our mind and heart. Its up to us to choose the right set.

Your Passion - why fear ? Go for it.

One of our friend was very interested in learning & had a passion for car driving , but he always had a fear whether he could make it , whether he may meet in some accident , whether will he be able to drive at nights etc. With sheer interest he joined a driving school , attended the classes everyday 30 minutes , learnt about the basics of a Maruti 800 car , later got the driving licence with some influence of the tutor. The next week he decided to purchase a car. He purchased a second hand car , the first day after visiting the temple performing pooja for the car , he tried to drive the car, he was not able to control the car - it was the first time he was attempting to drive without his tutor. No surprise , he hit with an accident immediately and ran into a electric poll pressing the accelerator. The car bumper was seriously damaged and  he was shivering with fear. He managed to get a person passing by to drive his car back home.

Just imagine what may be running on his mind when his fears came into reality and the first day he attempted to drive , met him with accident. For next few days , he did not open his car and was under depression that he was not able to ride properly. We suggested him to again get the tutor teach him on his new car for few days until he felt comfortable. He made this attempt and started learning in his new car with the tutor for 1 week. Later with due care and confidence he practiced day and night for hours driving first on empty roads , next on lightly occupied roads , further on less traffic roads , finally on heavy traffic roads. Today he is a very good driver. Now whenever we discuss about his accident , he laughs at it saying what a silly mistake it was and how he could have avoided and cared his car. 

The above incident would have happened in many of our lives as well. Some of us , may have stopped our passion to drive after fearing the accident incident. When we realize after going through the solution of the problem, we feel it was a very simple problem which we could have solved earlier without fear. This teaches a very valuable lesson -

When we have solution for every problem , why to fear ? Anyway the problem is going to hit us , so why resist it ? Only it asks us to study the solution , follow it , practice with due care , awareness and concentration . At the end , we feel happy that we have solved it. When we fear , we loose our mental stability on understanding the cause of the problem and its solution. So the next time you hit with a problem , do not fear about its consequences , instead think backwards what is the root cause for it and how to solve  it , because good things only happen when you face and go for it.

The confirmed path to Success - a short story

This is one of the stories of King Manu collected from the history of India myth which is summarized to a short story. Once king Manu went to a river shore to perform some rituals . While doing so , when he picked some water from the river he found a small fish in it. When he tried to put it back , the fish replied "Please Help me. I will help you some time later". Manu agreed and took it to his home , and left it in a big pot. The next day , the fish had expanded in size and had occupied the full pot. So Manu now left it in a small pond. Sooner it occupied the size of pond as well , then Manu left it in a sea. Even then it was ever growing and occupied that as well ! Then the fish replied "King Manu, in the next 100 years the world shall get demolished with a water flood. The whole world would get sunk in it. After some years , once water stops things would be normal. But the world should continue anyway isin't it ? Hence you may start constructing a big ship . In that you cultivate necessary living things like plants , pets , animal pairs , food which would suffice for at-least 10 years etc whichever may be required to start a fresh world. Now you may leave me in a ocean. I shall come back during the flood. I shall be having a big horn and shall carry your ship to a safe place to one of the highest peaks . Once the water level settles down , the birds , animals and the living species may start a new world altogether. " . King Manu agreed to this and left the fish in the ocean. The fish swum inside the ocean and disappeared.

After around 100 years , the fish's words came true and there was a heavy water flood. As promised , the fish came to King Manu , took the ship and progressed towards the highest mountain peaks. Once the water level settled down, the world started again from the  species stored. This is one of the amazing stories. On similar lines we find a story in Bible as well where Noah too had experienced this incident. 

Either King Manu or Noah would have not trusted the fish at the first instance. If they had not had the trust then the world would not have existed. When the fish swum inside the ocean , there was no rain not there was any flood. But still Manu decided to make the ship. Many people thought he was stupid and would have advised him to stop trying it. When he brought in every living specie and  cultivated it ,  many thought it may be a waste effort. many may have thought during signs of flood , who would sail this gigantic ship , is it really possible to be alive when such a thing happens and would have lost their lives also. But the dedication King Manu had , the commitment towards his set goal , the efforts and attempts he made to made it possible to start a new world.

This story teaches a very strong message - "Just like how our goals are important, our constant efforts to make it happen are also very important. Overcoming all negative thoughts of people around, their sayings , their suggestions - without fear one who does not give up in between and continuously believes in himself and gives his best to achieve it has definitely confirmed his path to success"

Gratitude

A very good person had passed away . An angel came and took him to heaven with all respects and was 

showing different parts of heaven. As they moved on , they first noticed a section where many angels were

busy working . The person noticed this and with surpise asked the angel why they are so busy . The angel 

replied - this is the "Prayers Receive" Section . Their job is to document all the prayers and requests which

people on Earth ask to God. As there are so many prayers and requests , they are very busy. They moved 

on to another section , where again many angels were fully busy without having time to speak to each other.

 The person asked again the same question for which the angel replied - This is the "Grant Section" for which 

God has granted the response for people's prayer requests. As god fulfills many requests , this section is 

also always busy.

As they further moved on , they noticed a small room in which only one angel was sitting without much work.

To his suprise , the person asked - Why this angel is not busy as other angels. The angel replied , this is the 

"Thanks Giving section" - their job is to collect & document the thanks giving response people send after their

request is fulfilled by God.  The person curiously asked how do people do this. The angel replied - "Its very 

simple. After God fulfills one's request, if the person with gratitude prays the God and submits his thanks, it 

reaches here". Then the person asked for what reasons should one show gratitude to God.

The angel smiled and replied - "If in your house , if there is no problem for your food , you have shelter and 

have proper clothes on your skin , then you belong to the world's 25% lucky people. If you have some Bank 

balance and good education , then you are one among the world's 1% luckiest people. When you get up daily, 

if you are healthy , you still have the chance to serve your dear parents , if you are part of happy family , if 

you can raise your head in front of others with self confidence , you are one among the most luckiest person 

in the world. For all these reasons one may send back gratitude to god"

The person realized why the single angel at Thanksgiving section was not that busy , as the number of 

Gratitude response from people was very less and felt sad about the same. Showing Gratitude is the first 

character of a civilized person. Forgetting one's help and the one who helped is like forgetting the culture.
